You can use Qatalog directly from Slack, through our Slack application.
Getting started
First, you will need to connect to Slack in Qatalog using your credentials, you can do that by going to 'Settings' > 'Connectors' > 'Slack' on the pop-up, click 'Connect' and sign-in using your Slack credentials.
Note: also connecting Slack search is not required to use the /ask command, however, we recommend it as it adds extra capabilities and improves the overall experience.
Using the /ask command
Once you're all set, type the /ask command from any conversation on Slack, type the question you wish to ask, and hit enter. For example: /ask When is my next meeting with John?
You will then see a pop-up asking you to select the sources you wish to search, or you can leave it blank to let Qatalog choose for you.
Then you will get the items Qatalog has found related to your search, you can again choose the ones you want or leave blank for Qatalog to select for you.
After that, you will see the query being evaluated on your messages (this will only be visible to you), followed by the answer to your query and the links to the used sources.
You will also see an option to share the answer in a Slack channel of your choice.
